January 2009 – Laurie Isola wrote an article about Velveteria in VIA Magazine, AAA Traveler’s Companion.

Here are some excerpts:
The offbeat museum, which recently moved to a bigger and better location at 2448 E. Burnside St, houses close to 2,000 velvet paintings, some 340 of which are on display at any time. The pièce de résistance is a black-light room hung with 40 fluorescent masterworks.

In fact, the owners have picked up so many treasures and stories that they’ve now produced a book called Black Velvet Masterpieces: Highlights from the Collection of the Velveteria Museum. You can buy one as you leave.
