The Canadian Museums Association magazine Muse

The Canadian Museums Association magazine Muse current issue July/August 2013 has an article “Does Artistic Expression Translate to Public Understanding?” by Yves Laberge. The article in French and English explores the challenges facing museums in the presentation of their content and how today’s ever changing patrons react and interact with the subject presented. A very interesting article exploring the relationship between museums and their audiences, how things are observed, the role of marketing to audiences tastes and much more is discussed. The observations Mr Laberge makes about Velvet Art and the respect it is getting are precious to read. Edgar Leeteg’s “ Tahitia “, Daniel Guerrero’s “Candlelight Procession”,a Cecelia Rodriguez wahine and an Elvis are pictured in the article. Velveteria thanks Lindsay Mann, Editor at Muse magazine and Yves Laberge for including us in this insightful article in Canadian Museums Association’s Muse Magazine July/August 2013 issue. Leeteg those mossbacked bastards are getting it.
