Velveteria Los Angeles OPENING!

Velveteria

 Museum of Velvet Paintings

EPICENTER of ART OPENS  DECEMBER 11, 2013

11AM- 6PM

We hit the velvet trail a year ago with a Christmas Show we were happy to share with the local artists in Nogales Arizona at the Hilltop Gallery.

Daniel Guerro, Carl & Caren

We had many velvets depicting Jesus and Mary. A group a children came to the gallery and made the sign of the cross in front of the velvets as if it were the Stations of the Cross.

In April the Velvet Trail led us to the West Texas flatlands  where we were a part of the Lubbock Arts Festival.  We met incredible folks there, the friendliest people on earth. We met Waylon Jennings family in Littlefield Texas  and gave them a velvet painting of Waylon for their Museum.  We knew we had to open after the fabulous response to these Masterpieces.  Then the Canadian Museum magazine MUSE  published an article by Yves la Berge about the challenges facing museums in the digital age.  We sent some paintings for the article and got some long deserved attention for this wonderful ART.  Thanks to Arizona, Texas, and Canada.  We got back on Route 66  headin for the pier where we heard Randy Newman  I Love LA after watching Number 66 Yasiel Puig knock one out, we followed the ball down the hill to Chinatown and found home.
